Beginner Adult Painting Classes, Workshops and Courses

In this level, we learn basic brush strokes and basic color blending. We focus on using a small color pallet to allow the student to learn how the paint works without the confusion of too many colors. 

We learn how to express ourselves in a unique and individual way by focusing on personal color choices, and basic design by using either a sample reference painting or photograph. 

The student is guided step-by-step through the process with the teacher demonstrating and helping each step of the way. 

The painting is typically completed in 2 - 3 hours.  We recommend this class for teens and adults. Children ages 10 and older may also attend if they feel comfortable.

In this level, we focus on building a solid foundation of the fundamentals of painting. This includes brush strokes, paint blending and expanded basic techniques. 

This level expands past the basic techniques taught in the Back to the Basics classes. We use the fundamental techniques and refine them to allow you to naturally move up in your creative journey with ease and grace.

This class level is geared to teach the student how to make their own choices and changes to the original painting to make it unique. 

We also introduce the student to new brushes to start creating new effects, such as the fan brush and the liner brush.

Students will learn how to express unique and individual creativity with the support of an instructor who guides them on their journey in discovering their inner artist. 

The class is typically 3-4 hours per session.  We often expand these classes into multiple sessions depending on the project we are working on.

We recommend this level for teens and adults 13 or older who demonstrate knowledge of the fundamentals and show an interest in growing their artistic skills.

In this level, our students are comfortably switching between the basic fundamental techniques. 

Practice makes perfect.  This level teaches the student additional techniques that go past the basis taught in the first two levels. We also introduce new tools to start learning such as pallet knives and detail brushes.

The student is now able to look at the finished product, and with a little help from the instructor is able to determine what technique is being used to achieve the desired effect.

This level prepares the student to naturally move into our intermediate level classes. 

We highly recommend the student spend a good amount of time in this level before moving up and we welcome the student to communicate with the instructor to develop a plan that is perfect for the individual's growth. Our goal is to remove the struggle that can come with trying to go too fast up the ladder of growth. We work with each student to help find the best path to success.

This class level is typically 3-4 hours per session. Classes may include more than one session. We recommend this level for teens and adults who have some experience in one or both of the previous levels.
