When we created the Beyond the Spectrum program, we dreamed of a world where children and adults with special needs could come together and show the world how amazing it is to be unique, to use art to transcend labels, and learn that we are ALL unique...in the most amazing ways.
Expressing art and creativity is a beautiful way to express our uniqueness to the world and is a universal means to communicate who we are and what we wish others to know about us.
We believe that “special” just means one-of-a-kind, amazing, and worth celebrating. We honor every person 's individuality and use this program to move past the limitations that labels put on us. We choose to move Beyond the Spectrum to celebrate each individual in all their beautiful and amazing uniqueness.
Life is like a rainbow - a full spectrum of colors, each of which has unlimited shades and value. All colors and shades are beautiful and are required to make the full rainbow. In the spectrum of life, we realize that each individual brings their own unique color and shade. When we come together and honor this concept with each individual...we can go Beyond the Spectrum and color our world perfectly with the many colors of the rainbow that we choose to express.
